Custom Web Applications and Integrations

Purpose-built web tools and integrations that support workflows a standard website cannot handle.

The service

A clearer path from need to outcome.

Custom web applications solve specific operational or customer needs. Coco Design can plan and build portals, interactive tools, data connections, payment workflows, and integrations around the systems an organization already uses.

Some needs do not fit a page. A client portal, a request queue, a quoting tool, a members area, a reservation system, a dashboard that pulls numbers from somewhere else — these are applications, and treating them as pages produces a mess of spreadsheets and email.

Coco Design starts with the workflow rather than the software: who does what, in what order, what has to be recorded, and where the current process breaks down. That determines what actually needs to be built and, just as often, what does not.

Integration is usually the difficult half. Connecting a website to a payment processor, a CRM, an email platform, or an internal system means handling authentication, data mapping, and failure cases properly so information does not go missing between systems.

Common questions

What to know about custom applications.

What is a custom web application?+

A custom web application is software delivered through a browser and built for one organization's specific workflow — for example a client portal, a request system, a quoting tool, or an internal dashboard.

When is a custom application better than off-the-shelf software?+

Off-the-shelf software is usually the better choice when it fits. A custom application makes sense when the process is unusual, when several systems must work together, or when workarounds are costing significant staff time.

What is a system integration?+

An integration connects a website or application to another system — such as a payment processor, CRM, or accounting platform — so information moves between them automatically instead of being re-entered.

How does a custom application project start?+

It starts by mapping the current workflow: who does what, what data is involved, and where the process breaks down. That determines the scope before any software is built.

How much does a custom web application cost?+

Custom applications are priced by the number of features, user roles, and integrations involved — there is no meaningful average, because a two-screen internal tool and a multi-tenant portal are different orders of magnitude. Coco Design defines scope first, then quotes against it.

How long does it take to build a custom application?+

Application timelines follow the feature set and the number of systems being connected, and integration work with third-party services is the least predictable part because it depends on their documentation and limits. Phasing the build so a usable first version ships early is usually the better path.

How do we get started on a custom application?+

Start by describing the process the application needs to support and who performs each step today. Coco Design also needs to know which systems it must talk to and who administers them, since access and API availability shape what is possible.

Should we build custom software or buy an off-the-shelf product?+

Buy off-the-shelf when your process resembles what the market already serves — accounting, email, CRM. Build custom when the process is the thing that differentiates your business, or when you are paying several people to bridge systems by hand every week because no product fits.

Does Coco Design provide custom applications outside Pensacola?+

Coco Design is a web design and digital marketing firm based in downtown Pensacola, Florida, and provides custom web applications and integrations for businesses and organizations throughout the United States. Projects run remotely by phone, video call, and shared review links, and clients in the Pensacola area are welcome to meet at the Palafox Place office.
